Patient testimonials are nearly as common as yelp reviews. They have the power to be incredibly helpful, motivating, and even occasionally cautionary. Patients have hundreds of platforms, online and otherwise, to provide information for other potential patients to utilize and act on. This is especially true in the realm of cosmetic enhancements, where treatment results are eagerly discussed and analyzed online.
Patient-to-patient communication is not always inherent to all aesthetic enhancement facilities, however it is undoubtedly a cornerstone of the industry as a whole. Unfortunately, the same cannot always be said for cosmetic doctors and aestheticians. There is a severe lack of doctor-to-doctor communication throughout the entire medical world, and opportunities for this type of fruitful dialogue are often few and far between.
Communication Leads to Better Innovation
Doctor testimonials foster progression and innovation. Even in treatment-specific situations, this type of openness creates an opportunity for growth at both ends. This is usually beneficial within most sectors that involve a good deal of hands on relationships with a recurring clientele, as with teachers-students, lawyers-clients, and obviously doctors-patients. The more the professionals of these industries collaborate, the better the outcome is for their “clients”. And better client outcomes are as much of a boon to individual service providers as they are to their respective industries as a whole.
In certain highly competitive industries, it’s commonly seen as more beneficial for professionals to keep any valuable information to themselves. This is particularly true in situations where information can be risky or even volatile, as is often the case with stock trading or journalism. And while the business side of cosmetic enhancements is still competitive, its overlap with general medicine allows the aesthetic industry to enjoy a unique setting where openness can transcend secrecy.
In fact, a lack of doctor-to-doctor communication has been proven to be a detriment to both patients and service providers. According to a 2004 report led by the Annals of Family Medicine, “gaps in communication may lead to patient harm, delays in care, continuation of incorrect treatment, increased length of stay, and increased costs.” These extra costs are often incurred by the patient, but they can also lead to higher practice-side expenses, especially in the area of aesthetics.
Standardization of Methods and Boosting KPI’s
When aesthetic practitioners fail to communicate effectively with each other, there is less opportunity for standardization of methods. Standardization is as valuable of an asset for cosmetic enhancements as it is for the medical industry altogether. It helps to create a symbiotic balance between manufacturers, doctors, medical staff, and patients. It also ensures that successful approaches to treatments, the best use of new technology, and the most practical business methods are all available across the board.
KPI’s (key performance indicators) are where ineffective communication hurts the most. New patient acquisition costs, the lifetime value of each patient, and even costs of treatment-specific device investments and maintenance can all be adversely affected through a lack of doctor-to-doctor communication. When doctors use each other as sounding boards, they can work collaboratively to improve these KPI’s through more effective use of new technology and techniques. When isolation and echo-chambers are the names of the game, progress in these areas is usually stymied or underdeveloped.
So What Are We Really Talking About?
This leads us to the primary point of this discussion: taking advantage of every opportunity to hear from other doctors about their new ideas, approaches, and/or uses of technology. Seeking out these opportunities on your own can often prove difficult or even futile. Fortunately, we’re offering one to you on a silver platter, for free.
Our upcoming webinar will include real doctor testimonials involving their use of our innovative treatment simulation services. This means that you’ll have the chance to speak doctor-to-doctor about an exciting and versatile tool that enhances new patient acquisitions, consultation to appointment conversion rates, patient retention, and the overall lifetime value of each patient. Hear from actual doctors that have seen exceptional results through the use of our Visualizer and open up a dialogue that will lead to improved patient care and better practice performance.
We could go on and on about how our Visualizer has been proven to decrease no-show rates by 85% or how it leads to higher ROI on treatment devices, but we’d rather you hear it from actual doctors who have seen these outcomes first-hand. That’s why we’d love for you to join us on November 16th, 2017 at 9:30AM (PST) and again at 3:30PM (PST) for our free webinar, “Doctor-to-Doctor: Learn How the Visualizer Works for Them”. We will have several doctors providing testimonials regarding their successful implementation of the visualizer within their practices. This will be followed by a detailed explanation of how you can utilize our Visualizer tool, as well as an open Q&A.
